Challenge

Ripple’s role as Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Tourism’s digital agency is to promote tourism in the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown region. 

Firstly, we identified the key challenges that Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Tourism faced in marketing their product. Our focus was purely on the client’s digital presence and the following challenges: 

  • Lack of a cohesive digital strategy
  • Outdated or underperforming website
  • Limited social media engagement or brand awareness

Our primary goal was to develop a visually appealing, user-friendly website that would serve as a hub for visitors to learn about the area’s attractions. Social Media Strategy and Ad Campaigns

Ripple revitalised DLR Tourism’s social media presence by creating a tailored content strategy.

We utilised platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to highlight the scenic beauty, cultural events and hidden gems of the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown region.

By incorporating visually captivating posts, stories and interactive content like polls and competitions we were able to engage both local and international audiences.

Outcome

Following Ripples strategic work, DLR Tourism’s website reported a significant uptake in international traffic (over 80k visitors in 2024), particularly from foreign markets.

DLR Tourism’s social media has grown substantially, with just under 2,000 new followers in 2024.

Furthermore, our Ad campaigns in 2024 have over 2 million impressions in 2024 and our Christmas Campaign reached over 300k impressions on social media.

Lastly, the local community and tourism providers praised the new online presence for its engaging content and ease of navigation in supporting their local businesses.
